Photo: PixabayFor the third year in a row, the Ministry of Environmental Protection is subsidizing the purchase of new electric or hybrid vehicles in order to encourage the use of an environmentally friendly mode of transport.
Compared to the previous two years, in 2022 there was the greatest interest in incentives, so the total number of subsidized vehicles in this year is 625. Additional funds from the budget have been allocated for these purposes. In 2020, the state subsidized the purchase of 112 vehicles, while last year that number was significantly higher - 446.
The right to a subsidy for the purchase of eco-vehicles can be exercised by citizens, legal entities and entrepreneurs who submitted a request no later than October 31 of the current year, and the amount of the subsidy ranges from 250 to 5,000 euros, depending on the type of vehicle, the Ministry of Environmental Protection announced. .
Subsidies are awarded according to a special regulation issued by the Government of the Republic of Serbia for each year, as part of the implementation of measures to improve air quality and improve the environment.
Although this year the largest amount of subsidies has been determined so far, the demand greatly exceeded the planned 150 million dinars, so the relevant ministry allocated additional funds from the budget to support all those interested in purchasing electric and hybrid vehicles.
More mass use of environmentally friendly vehicles is of great importance for reducing air pollution from traffic. According to the relevant ministry, the number of electric and hybrid vehicles is constantly increasing in our country, which is also contributed to by the incentives of the state, which will be continued next year with the adoption of the new Regulation on the conditions and methods of implementing the subsidized purchase of new vehicles that have an exclusively electric drive. as well as vehicles that, in addition to the internal combustion engine, are powered by an electric drive (hybrid drive).
