The construction of the Rimac Campus near Zagreb, which will house the headquarters of Rimac Automobili and the production plant of Rimac components and vehicles, began a year ago. The progress of the work can be followed live, and the company announces that the production hall will be put into operation in the middle of next year.

Rimac Campus is one of the largest construction projects currently underway in Europe, not only in the automotive industry, the Croatian company points out. The total investment is worth more than 200 million euros. With 100,000 m2 of built-up space on a 200,000 m2 plot, the campus should be fully operational in 2024. The campus was designed by the Zagreb-based architectural bureau 3LHD.

When completed, the entire Rimac Campus will be sustainable, carbon neutral and focused on its residents, according to the announcement. The huge, flat roof of the manufacturing facility will be covered with solar panels to generate electricity and will be connected to the headquarters and research and development facility by a large glass-enclosed restaurant, subtly blended into the landscape, with sweeping views on either side. At one end of this building, there will be a kindergarten and a sales area, and at the other, an exhibition area and a museum. Design and development facilities, including prototyping, will also be located here.

The Rimac Group announced that in line with the brand's focus on striking design, innovation, and sustainability, the new complex will contain numerous smart and unique features. Among them are an urban "swamp" and meadows, as well as a roof garden, a command center, VR rooms, and several rooms for the development of "top secret" projects. The new campus will also house a state-of-the-art showroom and bar.

Upon completion, the entire campus will be surrounded by a test track on the face, which has been specially developed to include a "drift angle". The campus will not have a fence; it will be completely open to the public so that visitors can enjoy the space and socialize with Rimac employees.

The production hall will be the heart of the campus, and its completion is a priority due to the rapid growth of the Rimac Technology branch. Rimac Technology develops and manufactures advanced electrification components for the world's largest OEMs and already collaborates with Porsche, Hyundai, Automobili Pininfarina, Aston Martin, and many others. When it is fully completed in 2024, the campus will be the headquarters for 2,500 employees of Rimac Automobili, as well as a center for research and development.

Rimac Group founder and CEO, Mate Rimac, announced that the company plans to build a new megacampus (on land three times larger than the current campus) whose focus will be on further increasing the production potential of Rimac Technology.
