A good number of cottages in mountain areas are already booked on New Year's Eve, and the prices are in line with the demand - and twice as high as regular ones. Those who previously booked a reception in more modest and smaller facilities could find it at a price of around 60 euros, while a reception in luxury holiday homes costs up to 1,000 euros per night. The most common price for the New Year holidays, however, is between 100 and 300 euros per night, but the offer is now weak, because the capacities are mostly full. Accommodation is not rented out for one night during the holidays, but there is a condition that the lease lasts a minimum of two, and rarely three nights.

This year, Zlatibor is also the most popular mountain for the New Year, so accommodation prices are slightly higher compared to other destinations, but real estate agencies say that the location of the cottages does not affect the price as much as their equipment, writes euronews.rs.

So, for example, on Fruška Gora you can find a place to stay for around 60 euros, but there is also a luxury holiday home in Sremski Karlovci where a place to stay costs 1,000 euros. Apart from luxurious furniture and a view of the Danube, the advantage of such facilities is that they can host more than ten people, who can also share the cost, so they are rented for parties or vacations of several families.

The price of accommodation is particularly high in weekend settlements in the vicinity of large cities, such as Avala and Kosmaj, but also in Alibegovec, near Novi Sad, where for two holiday days in a holiday home that is normally rented out for around 100 euros per day, it is now necessary to allocate 600 euros for two nights. On Rtanj, accommodation for four people, which normally costs 50 euros, is rented for 100 euros on New Year's Eve, and the minimum rent is three nights.

WANTED ACCOMMODATION WITH SAUNA AND FIREPLACE

Miloš Gajić from the Selo.rs portal says that the first reservations started back in September, and that already in mid-November, more than 70 percent of accommodation on the site was booked. Gajić notes that this is a period of great demand and that little is left free, and that the best was grabbed first. Traditionally, the most popular locations are Zlatibor, Divčibare and Tara, Fruška gora, but this year there is also a great demand for Zlatar, Golija and Stara planina.

"The Drina, which until recently was exclusively a spring and summer destination, is slowly entering the winter offer. Prices for the New Year are higher than 50 to 100 percent. There are accommodations that charge double the price for the reception. However, you can still rent buildings that can host a family of four at a price of 50 to 60 euros per night. It would be said that the prices for this New Year did not increase significantly compared to last year. In total, this winter season, accommodation is 10 to 20 percent more expensive," says Gajić.

He notes that the interest in New Year's is almost the same as in the May Day holidays, because the demand has significantly increased. According to Gajić, the prices do not depend so much on the geographical location as on the type and quality of accommodation. The offer is becoming richer, which somewhat defines the demand, so there is a demand for accommodation with saunas, wellness facilities, the popular A frame houses, which are becoming more and more common.

"You have luxury facilities in lesser-known locations of eastern Serbia that can charge from 150 euros for the rental of the facility per day, but the offer of such accommodation is significantly different. Modern A frame houses with plenty of content inside. The owners try to justify the price through the quality of the offer. It is important for guests to have a wifi signal in the accommodation, preferably Netflix, but they also prefer to choose accommodation with fireplaces instead of central heating. "Probably because of the warm winter atmosphere," says Gajić.
