ASAP: FIRST BUSINESS ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTURE COMPANIES

On the occasion of the beginning of the work of the Association of Serbian Architectural Practices - ASAP, a cocktail party was held at the Indigo Hotel in Belgrade. In addition to other guests, their support expressed personally the Assistant Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure - Djordje Milic, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade - Prof. Vladimir Lojanica, city urbanist of Belgrade - Marko Stojčić, representatives of companies in the field of real estate and construction industry, representatives of professional organizations, civic initiatives and representatives of the most important architectural and engineering companies from Serbia.

ASAP is the first business association of architectural firms from Serbia that brings together referent firms in the field of contemporary architecture. The association says that their wish is to build an architectural community and an ecosystem through connecting studies that nurture modern architectural practice, which would have a greater impact on the market, regulations and the industry itself. In addition, the Association aims to exchange knowledge and ideas, achieve greater competitiveness, as well as the affirmation of Serbian architecture in the local market, promotion on the global stage, and the ultimate goal - building and promoting the Serbian architecture brand.

The focus of activities in the coming period will be on cooperation with the real estate industry, as well as with the construction industry. Activities will be carried out aimed at recognizing the needs and changes that are happening in the market on the one hand, and pointing out examples through which architecture participates in creating the material value and identity of the community and society.

The association is thought to be an open platform that connects all important entities and factors of the architectural ecosystem: public administration and faculties on the one hand, civic initiatives and the general public on the other and the real estate industry, as well as the construction industry on the third.

The desire of ASAP is to create a combination of unique knowledge and expertise through a strategic partnership that will improve the local scene and continuously participate in the creation of the national good.

Currently, ASAP members are 25 architectural firms from all over Serbia: A4 studio, Antipod, ARIS, Autori, Beging, Danilo Dangubic Architects, Focal one, Inka studio, Ksenija Djordjevic Architects, KontraStudio, MAIN Architects, MADA, Mapa Architects, MART Architecture, Moba studio, Modelart Arhitekti, Remorker architects, Studio Architonic, Studio Fluid, Studio Obe, Ten, Teking Architecture, Unknown studio, Ured studio i Zabriskie. 

These architectural firms have won the most prestigious architectural awards, are promoters of the domestic architectural scene and authors of projects and designs of some of the most attractive buildings and spaces in the country. The goal in the coming period is certainly to expand its membership. The Association can be joined by those companies that are registered on the territory of the Republic of Serbia for performing architectural activities and those that share the values contained in the Statute.

The Association also announced active participation in the development of the National Architectural Strategy implemented by the competent Ministry within the EU accession programs.
