The Government of Serbia has decided to create a working group to monitor the implementation of the Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park (SKIP) project in Belgrade, which will be built in several phases in close proximity to the Pupun bridge in Belgrade, according to Nova ekonomija, ekapija.rs reports.

According to the plans, it is predicted that the construction of the entire park will be completed within 19 years. This was written in the draft of the spatial plan, which was open for public inspection from April 20 to May 19. In mid-October, the Government of Serbia passed a decree establishing this plan. The area within the plan is about 504.2 hectares.

The president of the newly established working group will be the Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade, Tomislav Momirović, according to the decision published in Službeni Glasnik.

The task of the working group is to monitor the implementation of signed contracts between the Government of Serbia and the China Road and Bridge Corporation from China (a strategic partner). The working group will have 12 members, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure, and the City of Belgrade...

The area of the planned complex and its wider surroundings belong to the territory of Pančevački Rit and are mostly used today, according to the spatial plan. A significant part of this land is located within the holdings of the PKB Beograd corporation, according to the spatial plan.

The Serbian-Chinese industrial park will be divided into the International Trade Center, the Industrial Park, and the High-Tech Park.

The project envisages the construction of industrial plants, warehouses, office buildings, residential areas for employees, and management buildings.

The planned industrial facilities will be, among other things, in the fields of production of food products, textiles and clothing, chemical and pharmaceutical products, car components, and equipment for the production of energy from renewable sources.

The implementation of the project will take place in three phases: the project initiation phase, the expansion phase, and the further development phase of the industrial park.

The planned investments in the Serbian-Chinese industrial park will be worth close to 300 million euros.
