DETAILED REGULATION PLAN OF KALENIĆ MARKET IS NOW ON EARLY PUBLIC INSPECTION

The City of Belgrade put the Plan of Detailed Regulation of the Kalenić Market on early public inspection. The plan made by the Urban Institute of Belgrade determines the conditions for the reconstruction of the market, re-examines traffic approaches and the way of solving parking, and forms an ambient units around the Kalenić market and Vojvode Bojović Square, according to ekapija.com.

It is planned that the existing plot of the city market Kalenić will get expanded by about one meter towards Maksim Gorki Street, in order to preserve the existing facilities of the market - renovated bars and a dairy hall. The planned area of the construction plot of the market will be about one hectare.

It is added that within the construction plot of the market, the phased realization of buildings is possible, so that each phase in a functional, design, architectural and constructive sense forms a unique whole.

Also, it is stated that the areas and capacity of buildings and complexes of public services will be kept in the current state, and it is about the building of CSO Vračar and the renovated library "Petar Kočić" which is the central building of the library in Vračar with 96,000 books in a modern space of about 360 m2.

The plan also allows for possible interventions and changes in capacity at these facilities, which will be defined during the drafting of the detailed regulation plan in cooperation with the relevant institutions.

The primary street network in the area of the market remains unchanged - Kursulina and Maksim Gorki streets are in the rank of first-row streets, and Njegoševa in the rank of second-row streets.

It is also planned to maintain the existing traffic rank of Krunska Street, Baba Višnjina Street, as well as Kičevska Street, and it is planned that Kičevska Street will be a pedestrian street with access from Trnska Street and Baba Višnjina.

An underground public garage with 720 parking spaces on two floors and two accesses from Njegoševa Street is planned at the position of the existing parking lot "Viška". The planned garage is organized so that with 360 parking spaces it meets the needs of the market, and the remaining 360 is intended exclusively for the public garage.

When it comes to communal infrastructure, it is stated that it is necessary to move the main water supply system from the market complex to the public traffic area outside the market.

A new sewer pipe of the general system in the newly planned road and possible reconstruction of the sewer in the contact roads are also planned, and the possibility of complete heating of the subject area is given.

The reconstruction of the park of Vojvoda Bojović, which is bordered by Krunska, Kursulina, Kičevska and Baba Višnjina streets, is also planned. Expansion and reconstruction, planting of trees and shrubs, restoration of lawns and replacement of park furniture, as well as reconstruction of paths and stairs are planned.

The plateau on the corner of Njegoševa and Maksima Gorkog streets can also be completely or partially reconstructed, which will be the subject of further elaboration, according to the plan, which is under early public introduction until March 28.

Let us remind you, the reconstruction of the Kalenić market is announced from 2019, and according to the latest announcements, it should start this year.
