Photo: rgz.gov.rsThe Republic Geodetic Authority has opened in Belgrade a digital archive for the entire territory of Serbia, and its main activity is the translation of analog documentation into digital form of all documents from the entire territory of the Republic of Serbia.
The goal of the digital archive is to establish a sustainable system for the conversion of analog documentation into digital form for the benefit of all citizens of Serbia.
"The goal of the project is to translate all archival documentation that exist in the Republic of Serbia into digital form and make it available to citizens." We plan to launch an application so that every citizen has available information, which will lead to speeding up and saving time for our users", said director Borko Drašković, director of the Republic Geodetic Authority.

Norwegian Ambassador Nils Ragnar Kamsvag stated that a reliable cadastre is one of the most important things for the European directive and that this is actually a real Serbian-Nordic project.
The Norwegian Government helped with the realization of the project with equipment and furniture, thanks to the World Bank funds were renovated the rooms, while the Swedish Government donated funds for equipment and training of employees who will work in the Digital Archive of the Republic Geodetic Authority.
The World Bank loan is 400,000 euros, while donor projects are worth 500,000 euros. Currently, 30 employees of the Institute are working on the project and, starting from June, work in two shifts is planned so that the planned 10 million pages can get translated into digital archive.
