The BIGZ building's reconstruction has begun, and in the coming year, this historic building will be turned into a multifunctional A class business space. It is one of the largest projects for the reconstruction of a building under the protection of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade that has been implemented in our area so far, due to its size and complexity. The former largest printing house in the Balkans, BIGZ, has been purchased by the business "Marera Real Estate," which is investing 20 million euros in the renovation and conversion of the facility with the partner company "Aleksandar gradnja". Work on the massive reconstruction began recently with the clearance of the plot, and an investigation of the building's structure is presently underway, followed by the start of construction work, according to beobuild.rs.

Architect Dragiša Brašovan designed this famous building in the 1930s, with 11 floors and a total space of 40,000 square meters. The reconstruction of the building will adjusted it to the requirements of the A class business center, with industrial design and monumental design with ceilings 4.6 meters high, and a space enriched with modern details and modern solutions. A special rarity of this building is the size of individual floors that span on 3,500 square meters, within which offices of various sizes will be designed to meet the strict requirements of tenants.

The interior of the building will be entirely renovated, yet its monumentality and industrial design will remain intact. Details and materials that contribute to the space's warmth will be used to enhance the atmosphere of the space. Since it is a cultural property (a building under the protection of Belgrade's Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments), the current facade will be revitalized, with new triple-glazed windows to improve acoustic and thermal insulation and a complete carpentry renovation. Linear outside lighting will also be installed on the facade to highlight the building's features. Linear exterior lighting will also be installed on the facade, in order to emphasize the contours of the building. The facility will be equipped with a completely new heating and cooling system.

In January 2023, the restored BIGZ building is set to welcome its first tenants.
