Photo: Bertrand Bouchez on UnsplashThe Minister for Rural Care in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Milan Krkobabić, visited Bačka Palanka today, where 69 houses were bought and occupied with funds from this ministry's program, and on that occasion he pointed out that the settlement of empty houses is imperative for the state.
After a working meeting with the management of the Municipality, which was also attended by the president of the Academic Committee for the village, Dragan Škorić, Krkobabić visited the village of Pivnice, which is one of the most successful in that domain, with 14 empty rural houses purchased.
He also visited the Filipović family, who moved from Novi Sad to this village in Bač, and then he visited the "Slovak House", which is a place of gathering, nurturing the traditions and cultural life of the villagers, and where an exhibition of wedding scarves, national costumes was set up , handicrafts and objects from the past Pivnica.
In the nearby village of Despotovo, in the presence of the president of the Cooperative Union of Vojvodina, Jelena Nestorov Bizonj, the minister also visited the "Agronom Despotovo" cooperative, which has been operating successfully since 2001.
This cooperative cultivates 2,600 hectares of land and employs more than 100 people. As a pivot of this region and an example of a successfully implemented concept of cooperatives, in 2019 it received 15 million dinars for the purchase of mechanization in agriculture, through a program intended for cooperatives, which is also implemented by the Ministry of Rural Affairs.
The President of the Bačka Palanka Municipality, Branislav Šušnica, stated that this local self-government is the beneficiary of funds from three of the four programs of the Ministry of Rural Care, in the total amount of approximately 109 million dinars.
