"The arrangement of Sremska Street is being carried out from the border of the completed reconstruction of Marshal Birjuzov Street to the fitting into the existing condition of Terazije, Knez Mihajlova and Kolarceva streets. These works are part of the expansion of the pedestrian zone in the very center of the city. We are removing the existing asphalt in Sremska Street, so that this street would also fit into the pedestrian zone with a curtain of granite slabs and blocks, "said Vesić, reports Beoinfo.
The works include the construction of a rain sewer, protection or relocation of all existing installations that may be endangered during the execution of works, as well as the installation of jardinieres and pergolas with a watering system and landscaping.
"Sremska Street is being reconstructed in the length of 165 meters, and the upper structure of the underground pedestrian passage near the Palace of Albania will be waterproofed," said Vesić and announced that a part of Nušićeva Street in the part from Terazije to Dečanska will be reconstructed in a similar way soon.
The value of the design and construction is 87.9 million dinars, and the contractor should complete the works during the fall.
