THE HIGHWAY FROM RUMA TO ŠABAC TO OPEN BY SEPTEMBER 2023

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Momirović, said yesterday that the goal is to open the part of the highway that will connect Ruma and Šabac, as well as the bridge on the Sava, next September.

The director of the Corridor of Serbia, Aleksandar Antić, added that all works are proceeding according to plan thanks to the good cooperation of all participants in this project, and currently 460 workers, with 350 units of mechanization, are employed on the entire route of the highway and the Ruma-Šabac-Loznica expressway. while the most intensive activities are carried out on the section of the Ruma-Šabac highway.

Yesterday, together with the mayor of Šabac, Aleksandar Pajić, they toured the works on the "Hrtkovci" interchange.

Pajić pointed out that the construction of this modern road will fulfill the decades-long dream of the citizens of Šabac to connect with Belgrade and Novi Sad and be the hub of western Serbia when it comes to road infrastructure.

The total length of the section is 78 kilometers, of which the Ruma-Šabac highway is 22.08 kilometers long, and the length of the Šabac-Loznica section, which will be built in the profile of a high-speed road, is 55 kilometers.

A commercial contract for the design and execution of works on the Ruma-Šabac highway and the Šabac-Loznica expressway was concluded with the Azerbaijani company Azvirt, and the contracted price of the works is 467.5 million euros.
