THE LINE PARK TO BE COMPLETED IN THREE YEARS

The first part of Line Park is in the final stage and now the selection of a contractor for the construction and reconstruction of the remaining part is expected.

This was announced yesterday by city planner Marko Stojčić and explained that they should get a contractor who has a license for revitalization of the Belgrade Fortress and the ramparts found there, as well as the Water Gate, as well as the Bastion of St.Jakov.

According to Stojčić, this implies the continuation of cooperation between the City, the Republic Institute for the Protection of Monuments and contractors in order to obtain a representation of everything that made up the Belgrade Fortress in the 18th century. Special emphasis will be placed on the Baroque Gate, which has exceptional cultural heritage features.

After the first unit, the Zelenilo PUC moves to the plateau near Kula Nebojša, and in parallel with that, the city planner expects to start work on the other parts by the beginning of winter at the latest.

"For the next three years, we are conquering part by part, each one that we solve property-legally, we will enter there." The contractor will receive a permit according to the project, which was created according to the conceptual solutions of 55 young authors. I hope that in the next three years, all 4.6 kilometers of space will be completed, so that we can prepare them for the citizens of Belgrade. So that everyone can see the potential of Belgrade on the banks of the Sava and Danube, that we finally don't have a barrier or a railway line that didn't allow people to reach the most beautiful parts of the capital from the urban parts of their settlements," explains Stojčić.

The linear park will stretch from the promenade near the Beton hall, under Kalemegdan, along the former railway line along the banks of the Sava and Danube all the way to the Pančevački bridge.

Preparatory work on this area began on January 24, when silt, weeds, debris and garbage from illegal dumps were removed. Work on the construction of the pedestrian and bicycle path was slowed down at the beginning of April, when the archaeological site of the Water Gate was found, which had been buried for almost an entire century.
