BIO4 Campus, whose total construction value is around  190 million euros, and whose equipping costs around 100 million euros, will spread on around 20 ha of land and encompass education science and research institutions, that is, three faculties and eight science institutes. The project is a new bioeconomic camp in Europe and it entails four fields: biomedicine, biotechnology, bioinformatics and biodiversity.

The campus will be located in the immediate vicinity of the Torlak Institute for Virology, Vaccines and Serums in Belgrade and the new headquarters of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (ALIMS), with which it will form a unique biomedical entity. It will have a total area of 110,000 m2, it will employ about 1,200 professors and researchers and about 4,000 students.

According to the Bio4.rs website, the construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2023, and the plan is for the campus to start working in the first quarter of 2025.

The institutions which will be covered by this campus are the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Bioengineering Group of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, writes ekapija.com.

An open competition for the design of the conceptual solution was announced last year, and the contract for the development of the conceptual project for the location conditions of the A phase of the construction of the BIO4 Campus was awarded to the Belgrade engineering company "Bekament".

The details of the project will be known after the completion of the project documentation, and in the meantime, take a look at the 3D renderings of the conceptual solution.
