The president of the municipality of Cajetina, Milan Stamatovic, presented the project of the construction of sports courts to be realized by that municipality in Zlatibor.

Stamatovic emphasized that the municipality wanted to continue developing and improving Zlatibor, because it was a suitable place for the preparation of sports teams and health tourism, as he pointed out.

“We don’t have enough sports infrastructure for the preparations of teams from the country and abroad. We all know that foreign teams won’t come here for the preparations, because they are not provided with the conditions that they have in other countries“ he said.

He pointed out that up to 20 outdoor and indoor sports courts would be built the next year.

He also said that Zlatibor had the conditions for the accommodation of athletes and that all it needed was sports infrastructure.

According to him, Zlatibor now has around 10 sports courts, but that is not enough.

It will take around EUR 10 million for the construction of sports courts. So far, two courts have been finished, two are being built, and they will be built in phases – said Stamatovic.

He said that the next project was the construction of an" indoor sports court for 8,000 spectators, where, as he emphasized, “we could expect European-level matches”.

He also announced the project of the construction of the “Gold City”, which will be located at the interstation of the gondola, where a golf course will be built.

He said that the municipality would also build a complex similar to the Hilandar Monastery.

He also reminded of the implementation of the recycling project, realized in cooperation with the Swedish government.

He said that “the project entails the separation of garbage in the location where it is created and a recycling yard”.

“We drive away the garbage to the regional landfill Duboko, which has had a problem for a long time now and we realize that, in a short time period, we will encounter a problem with solid waste. That is why we are doing the selection of waste in the location where it is created“ he said.

According to him, the baskets for waste separation have been given away to the households.

He pointed out that the citizens would pay a lower fee for waste disposal than before and that they would at the same time be able to recycle and earn, ekapija.com reports.
