BUILDING PERMITS IN AUGUST ISSUED FOR ALMOST 10 PERCENT LESS THAN LAST YEAR

In August 2022, the number of 2,562 building permits was issued, presenting the decrease of 9.9% when compared to August 2021, according to the website of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

Out of the total number of permits issued in August 2022, 79.2% related to buildings, and 20.8% to civil engineering constructions.

“When only buildings are concerned, 80.3% of permits related to residential buildings, and 19.7% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering constructions the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (71.0%)”, says the portal of the Statistical Office.

According to the permits issued in August 2022 in the Republic of Serbia, the construction of 4,136 dwellings with average useful floor space of 70.2 square meters was recorded. Out of the total number of apartments in new residential buildings, 8.0 percent of apartments will be built in buildings with one apartment, the average area of which is 151.6 square meters, and 90.9 percent of apartments will be built in buildings with three apartments or more apartments, and their average the area will be significantly smaller and will amount to 61.6 square meters.

The anticipated value of new construction works in August 2022 amounted to 85.5% of the totally anticipated value of works.

Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Beogradska oblast, 26.3% of the anticipated value of new construction works, followed by Severnobanatska oblast (18.6%), Rasinska oblast (15.0%), Sremska oblast (6.1%), Južnobačka oblast (6.0%) and Šumadijska oblast (5.3%), while the shares of other areas were up to 3.4%.
