Of the total number of permits issued in May, 80.2% of permits refer to buildings, and 19.8% to other structures. If only buildings are considered, 78.7% of permits were issued for residential buildings, and 21.3% for non-residential buildings, while the majority of other buildings are related to pipelines, communication and electrical lines (73.5%).
As stated, according to the permits issued in May 2022 in the Republic of Serbia, the construction of 3,680 apartments, with an average area of 72.4 m2, was reported.
Out of the total number of apartments in new residential buildings, 10.8% of apartments will be built in buildings with one apartment, with an average area of 147.8 m2, and 88.2% of apartments will be built in buildings with three apartments or more, and their the average area will be significantly smaller and will amount to 62.0 m2.
The estimated value of the new construction works in May 2022 is 88.2% of the total estimated value of the works.
Observed by regions, the highest construction activity is expected in Srem region, 24.4% of the predicted value of new construction, followed by Belgrade region (17.9%), Šumadija region (17.5%), while the shares of other regions range from 0 .1% to 4.4%.
