SERBIA'S HOUSING PRICE INDEX INCREASED, WITH AN ANNUAL GROWTH RATE OF 13.7%

The housing price index for the Republic of Serbia in the fourth quarter of 2022 is 145.03, which is an increase compared to the third quarter of the previous year when the index was 138.08. This increase in the housing price index follows the trend of property price growth that lasted all of last year and reached an annual growth rate of 13.7% during the last quarter of 2022. In terms of the price index, the regions of Vojvodina and the City of Belgrade are leading, but as in the previous few quarters, the strongest price growth was in the region of Southern and Eastern Serbia.

When comparing the price index of apartments in Serbia with indices in other European countries, our country occupies the "golden mean" in relation to other European countries and records stable growth and continuous development of this market.

Since the third quarter of 2022, the Republic Geodetic Authority has published the housing price index on a regular basis, developed in accordance with international methodological guidelines, which provides citizens and the economy with free, transparent, and accurate insight into the data on the basis of which they can monitor developments in the housing market.
