The Holme is a 205-year-old mansion in Regent's Park, London. It was put up for sale after it was taken over by a member of the Saudi royal family. If it reaches the asking price, it will become the most expensive property ever sold in the UK.
The Holme dethroned a three-story penthouse in New York's Central Park, which was put on the market in September for $250 million.
This London mansion was built by James Barton in 1818. First his family lived there, and then the mansion was used for Bedford College. It became a private residence in the 1980s.
The mansion has 40 bedrooms and is spread over four acres of parkland near the heart of London. In addition to numerous rooms, there are eight garages, a tennis court, a sauna, a library, and a large dining room.
Many compare this villa—due to its facade and size—to the White House in Washington. The Holme is attracting the interest of foreign investors, just like other houses in expensive London districts. Namely, 48 percent of houses in the most expensive parts of London in the first six months of 2022 were sold to international buyers.
