According to data from travel agency Ticket, Málaga was the most sought-after summer destination among tourists for 2026. Bookings for the Costa del Sol were 25% higher than last summer, while the total number of summer bookings increased by 11%. The data covers bookings made up to May 18 for travel between June 1 and August 31, 2026.
Why Málaga?
The city in southern Spain attracts visitors with its attractive beaches, architecture, modern urban amenities and lifestyle. Good connections with European cities further contribute to its popularity.
On Ticket’s list, Málaga was followed by Alicante, Mallorca, Split and Nice. The top ten also included London, Crete, Barcelona, Lisbon and Bangkok. Lisbon stood out in particular, with 90% more bookings than last summer.
Málaga’s popularity is also interesting from the perspective of the real estate market. A higher number of tourists increases demand for hotels, apartments and other tourism-related properties, while the city is increasingly becoming a destination for year-round stays.
Málaga thus further confirms its position as one of the most attractive cities on the Costa del Sol, where tourism, lifestyle and the real estate market are increasingly intertwined.
